As we’re getting ready to celebrate this Thanskgiving holiday, I wanted to share a few things I’m professionally grateful for this season, and all year round:
-I’m grateful to live in a country where we can exercise our freedom
-I’m grateful to my wonderful clients for giving me such interesting projects to work on and letting me live my dream of being a nerdy writer
-I’m grateful for friends and colleagues who encouraged me to start my own copywriting business and gave me the push I needed to start
-I’m grateful for being able to work in a business I am 100% passionate about
-I’m grateful that my dog keeps me company in my home office during the day
-I’m grateful for those who have paved the way before me
-I’m grateful to the wonderful authors and writers who give their knowledge and wonderful expertise so that I can better myself
-I’m grateful to my laptop computer that allows me to work wherever I am – at coffee shops, on the road, on the airplane, in my home office and in client offices
-I’m grateful to my Keurig single cup coffee maker, Pandora for playing my favorite music while I work and WordPress for allowing me to have an awesome website and blog
Happy Thanksgiving and may your holiday be filled with love, laughter, and things to be grateful for.

That’s a wonderful, thoughtful list. We need to pause sometimes just to realize how fortunate we are. Sometimes in the everyday rush, we tend to forget.

Monti, thanks for the comment! Life moves so quickly these days it’s hard to stop and take a look around. But as you mentioned, it’s so important. Thanks again!

Exercise our freedom????????? Oh, you mean like being strip searched and pumped with radiation at the airport tomorrow? That kind of freedom?
Or maybe you mean the freedom of free markets, where, say, if you are a bank and you screw up the entire economy, you go out of business- oh wait, I’m sorry our socialist government bails you out with my money. That freedom?
Or maybe the freedom of not being allowed to wear a Tshirt or bring a sign to a campaign rally during the presidential race of the US. That freedom, lol?
Nice post, but you really need to come back to earth now. And I don’t have time to go and rip into the rest of your post. but have a nice deluded Turkey day. While you are at it, invite a few Indians over and ask them how they like their freedom living on their reservations.

Donovan,
Thanks for your post and taking the time to comment. Although your comments truly make me sad for you. Do you have nothing to (sincerely) be grateful for? I looked at your Twitter account, your business website and your media website. Looks like you have been pretty successful in your life so I find it hard to believe you have nothing positive to say.
I did want to make one comment on the airport nonsense going on right now. Last week when flying to Philly I personally asked to be searched instead of going through the scanners (I am pregnant). It was NOT that bad; 5 out of the 7 minute search was the TSA agent explaining the process and what she was going to do. Again, people are making a big deal of nothing.
While we certainly don’t see eye to eye on anything, I am grateful (again) to you for posting. Thanks!
Jenny
