The Copywriting Process

 The typical copywriting process is pretty straightforward. More or less, this is how we will work together: 

  1. On our initial conversation, you give me as much information as possible regarding the services you would like, send me your existing website link, collateral, material, etc.
  2. I will put together a quote which includes an estimated timeline and cost for the project.
  3. To move forward, you sign the bid letter outlining the agreed-upon services, parameters, due date, and project scope.
  4. When I receive your 50% deposit and signed bid letter I will start the work.
  5. We stay in touch periodically while I work on the project. On my end, I begin by researching, concepting, writing, and then revising.
  6. I will send you over the first draft; within 5 days (any longer and I start to get out of your project’s mindset), you get back to me with any revisions or changes and I will complete those with 3 days. The quote covers two rounds of revisions (any extra revisions to be billed at my hourly rate).
  7. I send you the final draft. When you are satisfied with the completion, I send a final invoice.

That’s it! Simple, huh? One final note…

Writing is a solitary pursuit. Copywriting is not. We copywriters work closely with our clients to create a concept and product that meets mutually agreed-upon objectives. Depending on
the scope of the project, I possibly will be communicating with you on various strategies, asking questions, and getting clarifications as we get deeper into the process. Although I try and get as much information up front as possible, sometimes the collaboration is necessary. And feel free to touch base with me at any point as well.
