Accelerated SEO Content Campaign for Educational PD Consultants

95 Percent Group is a nationally recognized leader in reading development and improvement for grades K-12. They work with schools to identify reading gaps, set goals, and implement programs to effectively improve reading growth.

The 95 Percent Group leadership was looking for SEO to help generate more non-branded awareness, drive traffic, and increase conversions to the site. While on-page foundational SEO implementation had been made, they were looking for high-growth, high-impact activities to quickly move the needle.

SEO Activities

After an extensive SEO audit, a campaign was created to drive more traffic around 4 specific areas where the clients were experts. Activities included:

  1. Creating thought-leadership content to be relevant for these keywords: publishing the content to the website, internal linking, SEO, graphics, and tracking links were created to promote conversions and click-throughs once traffic came to the site
  2. Off-Page Promotion. This is the where we showed Google that not only is it the right content, but it matters to our readers and more. Through an outreach campaign, we linked to the new content from outside industry websites. We also created supplemental content on owned sites, from YouTube to LinkedIn to SlideShare. Then, we created a social media campaign designed for social signals to the new content.
  3. Measure and Tweak; Review and Plan. We used a combination of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, HubSpot, and UTM tracking codes to measure many KPIs: ranking, indexing, impressions, clicks, traffic, and conversions.

The Results

Within 30 days of completing Phase 1 of our campaign, we drove an additional 9,000+ impressions and 3,066 visits to the website that resulted in a higher-than-average click-through-rate (CTR) of 13%. Our backlink campaign resulted in 15 high-quality backlinks in 45 days with more coming in the near future. Our social signals campaign generated an additional 800 visits to the campaign content.
