Global Student Network (GSN) is a fantastic company that owns 4 different websites in the K-12 education space and serves thousands of students and families all over the world.

GSN came to The Munn Group initially because they needed a focused SEO plan in place, along with training and education for the team. The initial engagement developed into an ongoing one, with The Munn Group acting as SEO Strategist and Project Manager alongside the marketing and executive team. Our goal was to increase traffic, conversions, rankings, and sales across their business lines. This was a challenge as their once-small industry had become competitive and new websites and businesses were coming into the SERPs. Also, K-12 as an industry has been evolving quickly and we had to stay on top of changes and be proactive.


Over the year of our engagement our plan consisted of the following efforts:

  • Recalibrate and develop a robust list of keywords to use for static core pages of the website as well as ongoing on-site and off-site content; from this blog editorial calendars and new pages were planned to leverage all of the long-tail keywords as possible.
  • Improve on-page optimization based on the most important products for each site, improve rankings, and CTRs for meta data
  • Guide the team and provide direction to maintain an up-to-date proactive SEO strategy that was aligned with the business goals
  • Give SEO guidance during redesigns that occurred over this time in order to maintain and boost current site performance
  • Report on analytics and provide data-driven insights that turned into tasks and projects added to the action plan


The Results

With one site—exactly one year after an ongoing SEO engagement—record breaking traffic was achieved: over 10k page views in one week.

Traffic to one of the focus sites overall grew year-over-year by the following numbers:

  • Got on Page 1 for the four most profitable and important products:
    • GradPoint
    • Odysseware
    • Ignitia
    • Plato
  • For one site that been experiencing declining rankings and traffic, we put together a plan that lifted traffic up 66% from the prior year.
  • Traffic grew over 45% to the top-selling course product
  • We achieved a 122% increase in pageviews to the second top-selling course year-over-year
